The story of Metal Concept began nearly 30 years ago in the Mauritian sugar industry.
It was there that the founder acquired strong technical expertise, while developing an early fascination for another world: metal fabrication, welding and forging.
Trained in Réunion Island and later in France, he returned to Mauritius with the desire to create. The first pieces were born in a personal setting before being presented at an exhibition at the French Cultural Centre. The first orders quickly followed.
It was at this pivotal moment that he met Vinay.
More than a collaborator, Vinay became a hands-on partner, present from the very beginning. Together, they produced the first orders, shared the workshop, constraints and deadlines, and above all the same uncompromising standards of craftsmanship.
2004
In 2004, Metal Concept was officially founded. The company grew around this founding duo, combining vision, technical precision and artisanal know-how. Projects expanded, leading to the first major hotel commissions that firmly established Metal Concept within the Mauritian design and bespoke fitting landscape.
2014
In 2014, Metal Concept reached full maturity and refocused exclusively on metal. Vinay remains at the heart of the workshop, ensuring quality, skill transmission and continuity of craftsmanship.
